Annual Potluck Awards Dinner

Thank you to all the riders and families for another great season of BMX Racing. 

The Annual Potluck Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2010, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Rye Airfield BMX and Skate Park.

Please bring a favorite dish or dessert.  In the event of inclement weather the snow date for the banquet will be the following Saturday, February 6th, 2010 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Championship Race Rescheduled!!

The Championship Race has been rescheduled to be held on Saturday, November 7th, at 11 am, this is the final date.  This is a Rain or Shine event.  In the event of inclement weather, we will be awarding based on the best 3 races.  We will hold the award ceremony upstairs at Rye Airfield.

Championship Race Update and Voting!!

Calling all Riders and Parents,

Rain or Shine we will be meeting at Rye Airfield this Saturday as scheduled, 11 am.  We are hoping that the weather will hold out for us, but in the event that it is raining, please report inside of Rye Airfield, on the second floor. 

We will be holding our annual voting for the State Series Board Members for the 2010 Series, at this Saturdays Championship Event, October 23rd, as we have done for the past few years.  The descriptions of the positions are listed below.  It is open to everyone, no experience necessary, just dedication to the sport and the riders.  If you are interested all you need to do is add your name to the ballot on Saturday to the position you would like to be voted for, it is that easy.  The  terms are all for one year.  If you have any questions regarding the positions, the Board will be happy to answer all questions prior to voting.

OFFICERS:

        The Board shall consist of the following officers: (1) Commissioner, (2) Competition Manager/State Clerk. (3) Secretary, (4) Treasurer.

SECTION 5

STATE RACE COMMISSIONER-Shall preside over the meetings and shall serve as the tie breaking vote should be necessary, may appoint committees and will define the duties of committees.  The Commissioner shall be elected by the members at the Annual meeting. (See job description 1 in the Office NBL Track Operators Manual)

SECTION 6

COMPETITION MANAGER/STATE POINT KEEPER – The Competition Manager shall supervise the collection of points at State Events, handle any riders point protest and any other duties assigned by the Board.  Will also assume the responsibilities of the President as described in Section 9.

SECTION 7

SECRETARY – The Secretary shall be the official recorder of the minutes of all meetings and be responsible for their timely distribution to members and maintain all other records as may be assigned by the Board.  The Secretary also will be the second signature as well as the Treasurer on all New Hampshire checks.

SECTION 8

TREASURER – The Treasurer shall maintain the financial records of the organization establish and maintain the organization’s checking and/or savings account(s) disburse funds at the direction of the Commissioner and/or the Board and issue financial statements on a monthly basis to the Board.

SECTION 9

President – The president as nominated by the Commissioner and elected by the Board, in the absence of the Commissioner, perform all of the duties and have all the powers and perform such other duties as assigned to him/her by the Board.  Upon the President’s permanent absence during a fiscal year, his/her position will be filled by the Competition Manager/State Point Keeper, until which time the Board can elect a new president by a majority vote of the Board.

Championship Race Rescheduled!!

Today is Saturday, October 3rd, due to the current weather conditions and the forecast for the remainder of the day the Championship Race has been rescheduled.  The rescheduled date for this race will be Saturday, October 24th.  Since everyone has pre-registered, we will hold practice from 11-11:30 am with the race beginning at 11:30 am.  During the practice we will also hold our annual State Series Board Members voting. Information regarding the positions will be available at the track.

IMPORTANT RACE UPDATE FOR THE SEASON!!

Due to the recent concerns of the Triple EEE threat in the area and following suggestions put forth in regards to sporting events, Rye Airfield has decided that in the best of the riders and families, the races held on Wednesday evenings will be cancelled for the remainder of the season.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but again this is in the best interest of our riders and families.

Therefore there will be NO races held on the following dates:

Wednesday, Sept 16

Wednesday, Sept 23

Wednesday, Sept 30

The remaining races for the season are as follows:

Saturday, Sept 19  State Qualifier #8 and State Qualifier #9  (Registration 11-12pm, Race at 1pm)

Saturday, Oct 3rd, State Championship Race (Registration 11-12pm, Race Begins at 12pm)

Registrations for the Saturday races will be from 11-12pm

If you have not registered for the Championship Race you must do so by this Saturday, Sept 19th.  If you are not able to get the track to register, please email Diane Morris at bmxracing@myfairpoint.net to confirm that you will be racing the Championship Race and verify your shirt size for your jersey, no later than Sept 19.  Please mail your check for the $30 fee, made payable to  NH BMX State Association, to Diane Morris, 3 Ridgewood Trail, York, ME 03909.

The jersey contest will be judged at this Saturday’s Race.  Please be sure to bring your sheet for a chance to have the Championship Race Fee paid for by the State Association.

Update on Races

Our next race will be held Wednesday, Sept 16.  This is a local race.    Registration will be from 6-6:30, race beginning at 7pm.

 

The State Qualifier that was scheduled for Sept 12th has been rescheduled to this Saturday, Sept 19th, along with the regular scheduled State Qualifier.  This will be a double header of state qualifiers, as these are the final two qualifiers.  No local race will be held this day. Registration for both races will be from 11-12pm, race beginning @ 1pm. If you have not pre-registered for the Championship race you must do so by this Saturday.  Please contact Diane at 207-475-6862 with any questions, or email at bmxracing@myfairpoint.net.

If you are a first timer and would like to try out the track, it will be open from 11-1 for practice on Saturday, Sept 19….

Sept 12 Race Cancelled

Due to the current weather conditions the State Qualifier and Local Race for Saturday, Sept 12, has been cancelled.  More information for rescheduling will be posted to this Blog and the BMX Hotline, 603-964-2800, ext. 21, later this weekend.
